That feeling of having a weight lifted off your shoulders.
That is the start of great therapy.
Just knowing there is hope and that you’ve got a shot at a better life.
Finally doing something that’s going to result in some positive change.
After all, that’s what you really want.
Change is possible.
That’s where I come in.
I’ve seen it happen over and over.
Don’t get me wrong, change isn’t easy.
It requires us to operate outside our comfort zones.
Stick one toe outside that safe zone, and your brain jumps to attention. “Nope, not today,” it says.
But it’s that very uncertainty and apprehension that keep us in disappointing cycles.
Those same unhelpful patterns of behavior and haywire emotions live in our comfort zone.
We need to move beyond that.

That’s a clever acronym I came up with because the world certainly needs more of those. But here goes…
E is for explore. We will explore your circumstances and gain a better understanding of why you are struggling.
A is for acceptance. We will work together to understand certain aspects of your experience in a new way, looking for those areas where acceptance can lead to healing and growth.
S is for skills. I will help you develop the necessary skills to change your life and improve your relationships.
E is for execute. This is the part where you begin to actually live your life differently, where you will execute your plans and work toward your goals.
Therapy is a transformative process.
Some sessions can be tough.
Some sessions are actually fun!
But even the tough ones are good (maybe the best), because you learn so much about what makes you tick.
And when you understand how something works, you have the power to change it.
It’s like connecting the dots and the
picture is you.
Once you’ve “done the work,” as we therapists like to say, your life will make so much more sense to you.
You will understand yourself, your needs, your desires, and your limitations.
You’ll have a clear sense of your boundaries.
